MANTIS
The Mantis — A Legacy Synthesiser Born from Innovation
The Mantis is a unique collaboration between the late Chris Huggett (creator of the legendary Gnat, WASP, and OSCar synthesisers) and PWM (Paul Whittington).
Developed during the final chapter of Chris’s life, the Mantis was a project he poured his creativity, passion, and experience into. Although the design was incomplete when Chris sadly passed away, he entrusted the project to Paul to continue and explore what could be achieved. With the full support of Chris’s estate, PWM has completed the journey and brought this remarkable synthesiser to life.
Chris was known for his humility, despite his enormous contribution to electronic music technology. The Mantis represents his incredible imagination, engineering expertise, and lifelong passion for synthesis.
PWM believes the Mantis is something truly special — a synthesiser that deserves to exist, be played, and inspire musicians around the world.
